Sport and Health is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, University of East Sarajevo. The journal serves as a premier platform for researchers and practitioners to disseminate high-quality, original, and previously unpublished research. Its scope encompasses physical education, sport sciences, health, recreation, sport training theory, research methodology, sport management, and sports medicine, as well as exercise physiology and relevant branches of the biomedical, social, and natural sciences.

Aim and Scope

The journal is dedicated to fostering scientific excellence and providing a global forum for the exchange of innovative ideas. We prioritize manuscripts with international impact and interdisciplinary relevance. Sport and Health welcomes contributions that advance the fields of kinesiology, health sciences, and sports pedagogy, specifically those offering insights of interest to a broad, multi-disciplinary audience.

Peer Review Process

To maintain the highest scientific standards, all manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process:

• Initial Screening: The Editorial Board evaluates submissions for alignment with the journal’s scope and adherence to basic quality standards.
• External Review: Submissions are evaluated by at least two independent expert reviewers. Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the process.
• Conflict Resolution: In cases of significant disagreement between reviewers, the opinion of a third expert is sought.
• Final Decision: The Editor-in-Chief makes the final determination regarding publication based on reviewer recommendations and the manuscript’s overall contribution to the field.

Plagiarism Screening

The journal maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism. All manuscripts are screened using iThenticate software. Any suspected or confirmed academic misconduct is handled in accordance with the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines, which may result in rejection or retraction.

Open Access Policy & Licensing

Sport and Health is an Open Access journal. All content is immediately and permanently available online at no cost to readers or institutions.

• Licensing: Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.

Article Processing Charges (APC): To support the costs of publication, a fee of 50 EUR is charged per accepted manuscript. This fee is payable only after the paper has successfully passed peer review and received formal acceptance. There are no submission fees. Authors will receive detailed payment instructions upon acceptance.
