Publication Ethics &<br>Malpractice Statement

Sport and Health adheres to the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and is committed to ensuring ethical publishing practices and preventing publication malpractice.

Duties of Editors

Editors are responsible for:

  • Ensuring fair and unbiased editorial decisions.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
  • Avoiding conflicts of interest.
  • Taking appropriate action in cases of suspected ethical misconduct.

Duties of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback.
  • Maintain confidentiality of the review process.
  • Identify relevant published work not cited by the authors.
  • Declare any conflicts of interest that may influence their review.

Duties of Authors

Authors must:

  • Submit original work that has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
  • Properly cite sources and acknowledge contributions.
  • Disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data and results.
  • Obtain ethical approval for research involving human participants or animals, where applicable.

Conflict of Interest Policy

All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence the research, its interpretation, or editorial decisions.

Authors must include a Conflict of Interest statement in their manuscript.
If no conflicts exist, authors should state:

“The authors declare no conflict of interest.”

Handling Misconduct

Allegations of misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, unethical research practices) will be investigated in accordance with COPE guidelines and may result in rejection, correction, or retraction.

Corrections and Retractions

The journal will publish corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when necessary to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
